Gotta check them out. Likely not buying soon, but I have extremely tepid approval from my smarter half (mmm debt).
Looking forward to driving them back to back

Too bad they don’t make the SUS anymore. Best of both worlds, lifted rugged suspension and appearance with sedan sleekness .

Totally. That’d be amazing

Have you not seen the latest news of what makes a Subaru a Subaru?

Sometimes, you gotta strike while the shit is hitting the fan.
Or something like that.
On the day that Saturn was shutting down, I would have swaggered in there like a boss and lowballed them.

I’d love a WRX, but I think I could have fun in an impreza still.
traction control ALWAYS off

No. Bad. The Outback sedan is an abomination that deserves to be forgotten.
Now the Baja on the other hand...

Hopefully you love the Crosstrek. Because colors

Name me another manufacturer who would voluntarily replace entire engines in the event a part of a PCV valve can’t be found. Any other manufacturer would just replace the valve and then shrug if the missing part happened to damage your engine.

This is absolutely the way to do it.

Yes. That is awesome.

There are quite a few baja’s around here. Even a few baja XT’s.

Subaru is just used to replacing engines under warranty. Also: Hyundai/Kia with the 2 .4.

Flat over crest..
I didn’t even mind the auto in the rally car, easy to set up corners and left foot brake.. I knew 1st
+2nd
were 50/50 F/R
and 3rd was back to regular
90/10.. Having it start out as a beater helped too..

Hyundai was replacing engines because of confirmed failures. The PCV issue hasn’t killed any engines.
Yes, Subaru has had issues with the FB engines but they have also been very good about fixing them with minimal fuss when issues arise. They haven’t swept any of the issues they have seen under the rug.

For the man that says “boy I like this outback, but I wish it had less cargo space.”

For the man that needs the sophistication of a sedan and not the baggage associated with a wagon.

Flat 4 engines have a low center of gravity, therefo r easy to replace!

The Crosstrek looked nice when I was at the dealer.

I’ve driven one a few times after my sister in law bought one on my recommendation . I liked it!
I tried the manual at the auto show, felt OK. Can’t wait to see how the 6mt drives.

Hopefully it’s good!

He could have one of these they just stopped making and few people knew existed:
Volvo S60 Cross Country. Awkwardly tall with a 2.5" lift over the regular S60 and with AWD. I read that sales of this thing were so low that at one point the Alfa Romero 4C outsold it.

My wife just picked up a 2015 Crosstrek and she really loves it. It drives really well and has darn good utility for something it’s size and it’s price.

how many miles?

just watch this about 10 times... (Dalles Mt Road just outside of Goldendale, WA - they are doing about 110 on the straights. My inlaws live out there - I once did 65 in a POS Blazer along there and it felt like 110....)

I drove the Impreza and Crosstrek back to back in 2013 when I was shopping. I ended up with the Crosstrek as I prefered the extra ground clearance and seating position. When I had it, that car was a beast in the snow with the proper tires. It was just too sluggish with the CVT. I also only managed to pull down mid 20's for mpg at the best.
I can only assume the redesigned models are better than the one I owned (which I did like).

What ever happened with that 3 pedal CX3?
![]() 10/29/2019 at 14:42 |

Eh, it was a good deal and tempting but I wanted something more AWD. Also, been there done that!
Driving wise, it was weird to drive given it was like what we had, but suddenly manual. Shifted OK!

I remember you saying something about getting funny looks from the emergency responders when you pull up in your Forte ( instead of some more capable vehicle)

ah! yeah. I may go when buildings are still on fire or an active crash site, but I don’t do anything. The fire department/police usually hand over control of the site to me, I am the cleanup crew.
